After the assassination, the United States is in the position of proving they had nothing to do with the murder. During the investigation, U.S. intelligence sources discover some unusual Chinese military activity and first hear of the Shadows of Fire. Intelligence sources also learn that this faction has an aircraft carrier loaded with fighter planes sailing across the Pacific Ocean under the control of Colonel Kim. The discovery of a Chinese submarine off a beach at Midway is even more disconcerting to the U.S. The United States calls upon all branches of the services to defend the nation. The Hawaii Air National Guard takes the lead role. All of the members of the services are ready for the task and well trained to defend their nation. Captain Keoni Rodriguez, Lieutenant Samuel Jacobs and others head into battle knowing the ensuing air-to-air combat sequences are not training drills.This novel is similar in style to Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising and Hunt for Red October or Mack Maloney's Wingman series. It is a fast-paced military thriller with a lot of action, drama, suspense and even a little humor and romance throughout this well rounded story that is not just for military enthusiasts.
