With the BRAC 2005 decisions, a second ANG F-15 unit ceased flying operations in
January 2008. The Massachusetts 101st Fighter Squadron, 102nd Fighter Wing "Eagle
Keepers," are now in the process of becoming an Intel Unit. Their F-15A/B fleet is now
being transferred to the nearby 104th Fighter Wing, 131st Fighter Squadron located at
Barnes ANGB, also in Massachusetts. The 104th Fighter Wing will be taking over the air
defense mission originally flown by the 101st Fighter Squadron. The new F-15 unit
previously flew the A-10A Thunderbolt II or "Warthog."
These are some of the airframes previously operated by the Wing. They now belong to
the 104th FW.
